previously I mentioned that I would be doing a fall lookbook in three parts, but the hot weathers been a challenge on creating chilly weathered looks! so here's a shoot that I did over the weekend when I visited my best friend in san diego. as usual, the next paragraph will be some insight and if it's too deep skip on down to outfit details :)
what I want to talk about today, is leaving your comfort zone and letting yourself go out and do things you aren't so used to. this can apply to a million things! for me it's been very prominent in two things in my life. one was this trip to san diego, I used to be like a crazy lil girl and go out every night, never come home, etc etc. but somewhere along the way I started honing in on work & school so I lost that social part of me and for that reason, I haven't visited my best friend in years! I put that aside and went down for her birthday weekend and tbh it was so incrrdibly worth it! don't let the fear of uncomfortability keep you from doing things. another way that its made an impact is in how I feel being alone. when you're in a relationship long enough you start to think that there is nothing left if that person is gone. you start to think that you wont be okay without them, and that they're pretty much 90% of your existence... but when you're with someone that doesn't give you the mutual respect and consideration that you work so incredibly hard to give them? you have to take a deep breathe and realize that there's an entire world in front of you, that you will be okay, and you are more than 10% of your existance. im learning to step out of the comfort zone that came with my relationship. comfortability & familiarity are such crazy things. we seek them the most but we all have to remember not to forgot that spontaneity & new chapters in life are just as great.
so this look features some awesome pieces from shop fly nation! im so incredibly happy with this weather like you don't even know the joy I feel when I get in bed and can actually pull up the blanket... what makes me even happier is fall & winter coats! I'm a huge jacket & coat fan and this one has quickly made its way into my top 5! it's a very light weight jacket that can be used for layering straight into the winter. the sleeves even have the button up feature! all of these photos were taking in a beautiful geometric building in ucsd.
