China on China

I've always been a bit on the edge with two piece sets, my torso is long and my legs are short so sometimes I just look a lil bit funky. but I absolutely looooove the pieces from american apparel because they run shorter, so I tend not to look too much like a midge! I'll admit the sizes do run a bit small so sometimes I'll feel like a whale, but hey the label shouldn't matter ladies. I've had my eye on the China print pieces (or blue floral as they call it) from AA ever since they first came out with the spandex halter skater dress, but that dress is just so short I couldn't think of anywhere sensible to wear it. I walked in this weekend to take a look at their memorial day sale pieces and was incredibly happy to find both the skirt and crop on sale! both were 50% off so it felt like a steal. the crop top and skirt are both made in a lightweight polyester that's great for weekend brunches or bbq's. the skirt could be worn with another variety of tops, I can't wait to wear it with a white sweater, or the crop with a white tennis skirt, but for this last weekend, I paired the set with a pair of white chunky sandals.

this look features the:

printed lulu mini skirt by american apparel

printed lulu crop top by american apparel

the "stefano" sandals by steve madden

mini black top handle by matt & nat via urban outfitters *unfortunately no longer available, but here are a couple alternatives!* the nemesis mini satchel by matt & nat and the mini leather tote bag by BDG
